Afdeling voor Maritieme Techniek

As naval architect in the Dutch and worldwide marine industry you are involved in the design, construction and operation of high tech marine vessels and related structures and so continuously challenged to improve the designs, increase construction efficiency and reduce operating cost. The KIVI NIRIA department Marine Technology (MARTEC) wants to assist you in this continuous technological challenge. Our mission is to be the Dutch marine networking platform for engineers, students, highly educated professionals and other marine enthusiasts. Our vision is a flourishing high tech Dutch marine sector.

We are realizing our mission and vision by promoting and facilitating continuous professional development of our members, through:
• Monthly networking events with speakers presenting the latest technical innovations in the maritime industry
• Annual symposium on technical hot topics for naval architects
• Annual visit to a maritime company/organization
• December lecture organized jointly with KNVTS
• 4-yearly awarding our honorary medal to a person/organization for his/its outstanding achievement in the field of marine engineering

Our activities are always on the second Thursday of each month from September to July. End of August we are publishing the annual program on the website and in the form of a leaflet, see program. To warm you up we start with a costless meal of soup and bread at 6.15 PM. The lecture starts at 7.00 PM until 9.00 PM. During the event there is room for discussion and networking.

Uitkomst enquête Maritieme Techniek
Delft geniet de voorkeur als locatie voor lezingen van de afdeling, dit blijkt uit de enquête die de Afdeling Maritieme Techniek onder zijn leden heeft gehouden. Verder blijkt er onder leden grote interesse te zijn voor extra activiteiten naast de lezingen en naast het faciliteren van kennisoverdracht, vindt men netwerken een zeer belangrijke functie van de afdeling. Naar aanleiding van deze resultaten wil het bestuur de komende jaren in elk geval één activiteit naast de lezingen en het geplande symposium organiseren. Daarnaast wordt er op de avonden van de lezingen meer tijd vrijgemaakt om een praatje te kunnen maken.
